Teleprompter speed calculator
Work out the words per minute your time limit requires, or how long your script will take at a comfortable pace.
How the calculation works
Required WPM equals the script’s word count divided by the available minutes. Estimated duration reverses that calculation: words divided by WPM. These numbers are a planning baseline, not a demand to speak without pauses.
What is a good teleprompter pace?
About 120–150 WPM feels conversational for many speakers. Technical explanations often need less speed; energetic introductions can take more. If the required pace feels rushed, trimming the script usually sounds better than reading faster.

Font size, line height, and text width affect physical scrolling speed. Configure the presenter for your camera distance, then rehearse the densest section and adjust the scroll control by feel.
